  Ron's Bio

Ron Onesti is an entertainment industry powerhouse who has provided enjoyment for countless lovers of the “Onesti Entertainment” brand name from Las Vegas to Chicago to Hoboken.

The son of a tailor, Ron was born on Taylor Street in Chicago’s Little Italy in 1962.

As a marketing major at DePaul University, Ron began his entrepreneurial career by selling printing services after school and donuts in between classes. It was not long before he had his own print shops. From there, he expanded into a sign shop, a sporting goods store, a silkscreen operation and a marketing/PR firm.

His brother, Rich, was with him during each endeavor, every step of the way. Today he is Vice President of Operations for the company.  He is responsible for all technical and production elements involved with each presentation.

Ron, along with his brother Rich, has also hosted an entertainment-based talk show on the FM dial in Chicago. An accomplished writer, he has been published more than 100 times.  He has produced several projects for television, including a PBS special about kids against drugs and violence that received three Emmy Awards.

Ron is the president of Onesti Entertainment Corp., which produces concerts, special
events and festivals nationwide. A specialty is the production of Italian festivals, something he is passionate about. In the Chicago area, he is responsible for the Festa Pasta Vino on South Oakley Avenue, Taylor Street Festa Italiana and West Suburban Festa Italiana in Addison. He also coordinates and/or provides entertainment services for the communities of Carol Stream, Bloomingdale, Melrose Park, Country Club Hills and Park Ridge.

In 2005, he restored The Arcada Theatre, a 900-seat, 1926 vaudeville theatre in St. Charles. Ron is responsible for bringing The Arcada back to its original splendor and using it to showcase local and national talent in the western suburbs.

In 2008, he purchased 18 North, a prominent St. Charles restaurant housed in a former church.  The building, built in 1851, is now The Onesti Dinner Club, an upscale Italian Steakhouse set in a 1940s supper club atmosphere.

Also in 2008, Ron was awarded the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor, one of only
three medals recognized by Congress.  Ron Onesti is living the American dream, bringing pride to his grandparents, who came through the gates of Ellis Island in search of a better life for their family.

Today, he is one of the most respected individuals in the entertainment industry producing over 400 shows annually around the country.  Time will only tell where his path will lead, but one thing is sure, the journey will be an exciting one!
